Tech Fair - Conclusion

Shemeen and I have decided to do a presentation on Corel Draw for our Tech Fair project. This is mainly because of its easy layout and simple instructions and it also has many more features than Windows Live Photo Gallery which are easy to use. The software is also more likely to appeal to our target audience.

Windows Live Photo Gallery
Free, Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows Server, well organized, tag/mark photos, simple and easy to use, good editing software, stores photos well and doesn't lag/is very smooth.

Tech Fair - Advantages of Corel Draw and Windows Live Photo Gallery

Corel Draw

Disadvantages

Not usually standard graphics for printers.

Harder to convert to a file that other programs can use.

Advantages

Comes with Photoshop.

Quick to load.

More export and import filters.

Good price for a high standard photo editing software.

Windows Live Photo Gallery

Disadvantages

Can't adjust raw camera files.

Only works in some programs.

Advantages

Face recognition.

Blemish removal tool. 

Tech Fair - Thoughts and Ideas

For my Tech Fair project I am working with Shemeen Basit and we are doing Digital Photography. We have chosen to research Corel Draw and Windows Live Photo Gallery.

I have read some reviews for both of these photo editing softwares and Corel Draw has definitely stood out.

Peer Review

 Shemeen used her wiki as a digital portfolio. This is my peer review of her wiki. She got 40/132 which means she got a level 2.

Shemeen’s personal statement was very detailed but she didn’t finish it off. To improve, she could have maybe written a reflection for each subject and included pieces of her work that she has done over the past term.
